Guestbook

Good directions and instructions well before we were due to visit. Although there is no parking outside the property, this is not a problem as you can drop off all your baggage and there is a car park about 100 yards away. We arrived on a cold wet Friday in October, and found that this cosy little cottage was already warm as the owners can control the heating remotely and get it up to temperature ready for the guests’ arrival. The lounge is comfortable with plenty of room for a family. There is Wi-Fi, Amazon TV and a very large selection of books and board games. The kitchen has a lot of modern facilities including a large "range" cooker and a lot of good quality modern appliances. The bedrooms were spotless with clean sheets, the bathroom had a modern shower and separate bath, and although we didn't use it, there is a washing machine in the basement. The only problem for families with very small children could be the steep stairs, but our children didn't seem to have too much difficulty with this (our youngest is 8). Heptonstall is a beautiful village with great amenities - a very nice coffee shop and post office, amongst others that we didn't use. It's about a 20 minute steep walk down into Hebdon Bridge with lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, and we had a nice walk by the canal. We didn’t walk back, as there is a very regular bus service to and from Heptonstall. Overall, we had a lovely weekend and will definitely book again, as the property is an ideal place to see the village and surrounding area.

I went to 2 Swanfold with my husband and teenage daughter. The cottage is beautiful, cosy and clean. The kitchen is really well-equipped. The main bedroom is lovely and the second bedroom has plenty of room. Lovely bedding and lots of clean towels. I loved the slipper bath! The lounge is comfortable and cosy. It was nice and warm. Cathy was very helpful and friendly on the phone. The weather was good so we walked down to Hebden Bridge and back. It was a lovely walk but don't try walking back up unless you are pretty fit! Hebden Bridge is really interesting, with lots of shops and cafes and lovely walks along the canal. We ate in one of the pubs in Heptonstall - the one nearest the cottage. It was good pub food and we were made to feel very welcome. For the other evening we bought take away main courses from the coffee shop and veg from the Post Office. The main courses were very good and inexpensive. The coffee shop looks like it does a good range of cakes and serves breakfast too. We are quite active and enjoyed the walks but equally it would be possible to stay in the village and just rest-up for the weekend! We hope to make a return trip. Thank you.

Our family stayed at 2 Swanfold this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves exploring Hebden Bridge, in spite of the rain. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and user-friendly. I always take a basic "kit" like teabags, coffee, sugar and milk with us but in this case we need not have done so, as there were basics very kindly provided in the kitchen. We enjoyed making fires in the wood burning stove and the dog was very comfortable basking in front of the fire. And best of all, there were little treats in the house like cake (yay!) and bath products (Yorkshire Soap Co did very well out of us!) We would definitely stay again.

This cottage is a little gem. I have rented lots of holiday cottages over the years and this one is the best equipped I have come across. Every detail has been thought of for comfort and relaxation. The decor is fit for any glossy home magazine. The cottage is situated between two pubs but it's very quiet no noise disturbance at all. Both pubs serve food and have excellent beers we would advise you book as the kitchens can close earlier than expected. There is a great cafe a few yards from the cottage, great tea, coffee and cakes but you can also order 'homemade' frozen meals great if you fancy a night off cooking. We had no trouble parking even on a bank holiday weekend. Hebden Bridge is a 5 minute drive in the car with a great range of independent shops, good range of restaurants and even a micro brewery. Cathy could not have been more helpful. She returned communications within minutes and is very friendly. The cakes and the milk in the fridge was a great start to our holiday after a long journey. If your considering booking this cottage DO you won't regret it for a second we were delighted with it. It's excellent value for money. Thank you Cathy for a wonderful holiday.

We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage is very cosy yet spacious. Very well equipt and ideal location for country walks, and 2 local pubs a stones throw away! Beds very comfy, lovely kitchen, bath and log burner. Perfect if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you

We found Cathy's cottage absolutely wonderful and all of it was to our liking. The furnishings fitted in perfectly with it. It was lovely being between two real ale pubs and very close to a quaint little tea shop which served great drinks, cakes and also frozen meals to take away. We found the car parking no problem every night in the Residents Parking behind the Tea Room. Hebden Bridge was easy to get to on a local bus and found all of the shops, arts and crafts and markets really interesting and the pubs were also really nice. In Hepstonstall it was nice to explore all of the little narrow cobbled streets. Thankyou Cathy, we had a really lovely week's stay in Swan Fold.

Had the most amazing stay in Swanfold. The attention to detail in the cottage was lovely. I have stayed in many cottages over the years, and this is definitely my favourite! Lovely owner, communication was fantastic. Really didn't want to leave.

Cosy and comfortable cottage. The photographs don't do it justice! Lovely area for walking and too many places to mention worth a visit that are no more than a short drive away.
